Hoodliners.net is currently ON-HOLD due to my stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in February 2013 and since then have been on I.V. chemotherapy treatments. The unfortunate side effects are that I get very weak and tired, dizzy, nauseous and without any desire or ambition to do anything. I.V. chemotherapy uses chemicals designed to attack and kill the cancerous cells but unfortunately the chemicals don't just attack the bad cancer cells, they kill all the good cells too. This is what causes the sickness and weakness. I don't know if medical science is at the point where they can come up with a chemotherapy that attacks only the bad cancerous cells while leaving good cells alone, and maintaining effectiveness.
It's been determined that my pancreatic cancer is due to genetics, my mother passed away from
it in early October 2013. Three months later I started showing symptoms of it. After a battery
of tests it was discovered in February 2013 at stage 4, meaning it was also evident in other organs.
I am driven and determined to totally eradicate this cancer from me as I have a young family and many obligations to them. I do have a positive attitude and have not "shut-down" or withdrawn due to my diagnosis. Along with my medical treatments I am aware of herbal and organic remedies and am also trying them. I do take an herbal supplement called "Essiac" as well as others, including vitamins and minerals. I also take care to keep myself oxygenated and maintaining a higher PH.
Hoodliners.net is a company of one guy, being myself. I fabricate the hoodliners myself by hand,
and it requires a lot of standing and reaching. Due to my condition I can't stand for very long
periods, which explains why I am on-hold. I do plan on re-starting my business eventually so that
I may be of service to the many car owners who are anxiously awaiting my return!
Update November/December 2013
No change in the pancreatic cancer/tumor size. My doctor/oncologist suggested I go to the
Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit to begin a clinical trial using other types of treatments.
The doctor at Karmanos and my doctor are friends and both will be in communication as
to how I'll be responding to the clinical trials, which will start on December 23rd, 2013.
Update September 2013
My doctor reviewed the last CAT scan from August 23rd and it seems the tumor is slowly growing again plus it's starting to spot a bit into my lower left lung. Nothing in the liver though. He had me stop the chemo pills because they really didn't help despite my positive outlook. All they did was numb-out my fingertips and toes, and dry out my hands and feet. The doc put me back on an I.V. chemo therapy regimen but it's not as bad as the intensive chemo I started with back in February. This one is an infusion once a week for three weeks for about an hour and then off for a week, then repeat. I get a bit sleepy and tired but not to the point I can't function. But I'm not back to 100%! Just need to wait and see what happens next.
Update July 2013
Still progressing, the next event is another CAT scan in late August to see if the chemo pills are having effect on the cancerous tumor. I do feel "normal" aside from the tiredness and numbness/tingling in my fingers and toes. I can make a few hoodliners, but not a whole bunch like before I got sick!
Update June 2013
I heard from my doc/oncologist that I am in a partial remission! The cancer is no longer in my lungs or my liver, and the tumor in my pancreas that was 5 centimeters large (golf ball-sized) is now reduced in half to 2.5 cm! I am now on chemo pills instead of the I.V. drip bags "cocktail" that I was getting through the port in my upper right chest. The problem was that I would feel weak and really wiped out after the 6 hours with the chemo and the weakness would last 7-10 days. I would get somewhat stronger just before I had to go in for another chemo session which was every 2 weeks. The chemicals used also caused some nausea which was not fun! I have to take 5 chemo pills every morning and 5 every evening with meals, 500 mg each for a total of 5,000 mg a day! I have to take them every day for 14 days, then off for a week, then repeat. These pills don't leave me wiped out like the I.V. bags, but I do have some general weakness. My appetite is back though, but I still lost almost 70 pounds! I'm very positive that the pills will do their job and help eradicate this cancer!
Due to an unforeseen medical issue I am unable to accept orders for hoodliners right now. I am undergoing I.V. chemotherapy for stage 4 pancreatic cancer and hope to beat it! I've lived a clean life and am fairly strong so my docs are positive that I'll get through this. As soon as I get the OK from them I'll re-establish the STORE page so that I can fulfill orders once more. I'm hoping to be back up and running some time in May.
I have every confidence in the doctors and staff of the Cancer Center at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor and Canton, Michigan that they'll bring me to full health and remission!
Glory and praise to Almighty God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who will also bring me through this cancer and offer me comfort and healing so that I can support my family through the sale of my hoodliners. I'm a devout Catholic and have every hope and confidence that I'll get through this guided by God!
I am currently "on-hold" because of my stage 4 pancreatic cancer! I changed the STORE page to reflect that, and it's the reason why you can't place an order just yet. No one else carries the originals and I'm the only one making hood insulation liners for these models, patterned after the original but made from far better aircraft firewall insulation material.
I had a CAT scan on Thursday May 9 and I'm waiting the results of what the docs find inside. I'm really anxious to get my site and store page back up and running so I can help the many, many car owners who are patiently waiting.

NOW JUST ADDED: C4 Corvette hoodliners!! I do have the dimensions for all the pieces that go in the sections. To fabricate one large liner would take up way too much material because that underhood is just too large, and the cost of it would be easily $169.99. Plus there's the problem of the 2 lights and their respective wiring. Supplying section pieces would still provide protection and necessary insulation while maintaining a clean underhood appearance, plus personalization with the decal. The section pieces will have the correct curved corners.
Here are the dimensions of the pieces I would send:
2 pieces at 12 x 17 (behind wheel wells)
2 pieces at 12 x 14 (above wheel wells)
1 piece at 36 x 19.5 (center section)
1 piece at 8 x 19.5 (lower center section)
Full instructions would come in the box with your new hoodliner.
Pricing for all pieces would be $74.99, quite a bit less than the $169.99 for one large piece. I would much rather fabricate section pieces than one large piece, making installation easier for the car owner as well, while keeping the cost down.
Yes, C4 hoodliners are now available! PLEASE NOTE: these C4 Corvette hood liner sections will work for the 1985 to 1996 C4 Corvette. I am working on a full one-piece liner for the 1984 C4 Corvette which is a different underhood shaping from the rest of the C4 Corvettes.

You don't have to stay with a stock liner, or even try to find an OEM stock hood liner replacement because those are ridiculously expensive and they charge for oversized shipping. On top of that the OEM replacement hoodliner will fail and get dirty again - mine won't! Read on, it does require removal of the hood and using 3M #80 spray adhesive. Many of you guys do engine, transmission and rear end work on your cars, so removing 4 bolts to remove your hood and install my hoodliner is nothing compared to that!
